Thousands of Kenyans of Luhya community have flocked Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega County for the Luhya Spokesperson unveiling event.

Hundreds of local politicians from various political parties, including Members of County Assembly and party representatives from Kanu, ODM, ANC among others, are attending the event.

Others attending the event being emceed by Lugari MP Ayub Savula, area MCA Cleophas Malala are from Busia, Vihiga, Migori, Kisumu, Nakuru, Nandi, host County-Kakamega, Bungoma.

The event which started at around 9am, will culminate into the unveiling of the luhya community spokesperson as declared by luhya elder and Central Organization of Trade Union (Cotu) secretary general Francis Atwoli.

Chairman of Elders Philip Masinde, Atwoli, King Nabongo Mumia among other leaders are in attendance.

Front-runners for position of Luhya spokesman are former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Forrd Kenya senator Moses Wetang'ula

A parallel rally organised by Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali is being held in Mumias.
