Political analyst Patrick Lumumba has asked a Nairobi law court to allow plagiarism case facing him to be settled out of court.
However, Justice Joseph Oguto did not approve the request instead directing the matter to be heard on a later date.
“Let the matter be mentioned on December 13 with a view of recording a settlement,” Justice Onguto directed.
Lumumba, the former Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission boss was sued by author Wachira Maina.
He accused Lumumba of using quotations from an article he authored and published in the East African newspaper three years ago.
Through lawyer Gitobu Imanyara, Wachira argues that Lumumba dishonoured his post as the Kenya School of Law Director and should, therefore, be barred from conducting his duties.
