Two MPs from Nyanza have faulted the criteria used by the IEBC selection panel in picking commissioners who will oversee the August 8, general elections.
Nicholas Gumbo (Rarieda) and David Ochieng' (Ugenya) said the exercise was marred by tribalism.
They said they will seek for an explanation over the selection criteria when the list of nominees will be taken to Parliament for debate.
The accused the Jubilee administration of sidelining the Luo community while apportioning state jobs.
Gumbo specifically stated that the name of Zephania Aura was deliberately struck-off the final list of nominees.
"Tribalism in this country is more dangerous than terrorism," Gumbo said.
"As leaders, we will not keep quiet when communities are being marginalised. Why was Aura's name left out yet he beat most of the candidates whose names were presented for nomination?"
"We demand an explanation for why people from the Luo community cannot be considered even if they are fit for top positions."
Ochieng' on his part said: "Attempts by Jubilee to interfere with the electoral laws are going to be the major causes of lack of peace after elections."
