Council chairman Willis Opiyo Otondi said the meeting to be hosted at Karachuonyo constituency will be attended by all the elders.

Mr MOtondi said the elders will deliberate on the issue and reach out for a conclusion.

He noted that as a Council, they have a disciplinary committee that would have dealt with the issue but chose to involve all the members.

“Mzee Ongadi knows very well that I am the chairman of the Council, why is he misleading the Luo community? I have received numerous calls after he appeared in Nakuru as the chairman,” he said.

Addressing a press conference on Monday in Kisumu, Mr Otondi castigated Mr Ongadi for attending the prayer rally.

He noted that Ongadi ought to have attended a prayer rally organized by Cord in Kibra, Nairobi.

“If indeed he wanted to attend the prayer rally, he would have gone to Nairobi where Cord was conducting a meeting,” he said.

He said the action portrayed by Ongadi is one that divides the Luo community.

Kisumu Central MP Ken Obura and his Karachuonyo counterpart James Rege both from ODM also attended the Nakuru prayer rally.
