The Luo Council of Elders has warned that Nasa presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, could lose to President Uhuru Kenyatta again in the August election.

The council challenged the Nasa presidential campaign in Nyanza and the western region to avoid utterances that could cause voter apathy.

While commenting on the recent chaotic Nasa rally in Rarieda, the council's chairman, Opiyo Otondi, said the chaos were a threat to Raila's presidential bid.

Mr Otondi said violence could discourage the other communities that are supporting Raila's presidential bid from voting. He told those campaigning for Raila to win them over independent candidates, instead of using harsh language against them."Leaders and members of other communities have kindheartedly agreed to support Raila but what happened is unfortunate," said Mr Otondi, as reported by The Standard.Raila with ODM leaders in Ugunja, Siaya County.
