Luo elders have been urged to convene a one-day prayer if they want National Super Alliance (Nasa) flag bearer Raila Odinga to win the fresh presidential poll.
While speaking to the press in Kisumu, Apostle John Denge of the Pentecostal Revival Church Kisumu said he had received a divine revelation that for Raila to become president then his backyard must unite in prayer and repentance.
The cleric said the NASA family was battling against their contender Jubilee Party who had already galvanized their supporters and sought divine intervention pertaining the prevailing elections.
“Jubilee is already prepared. I am afraid NASA has not convened the same and the election date is closing in fast,” said Denge.
The prayer, he said should involve all political and religious leaders from the larger Nyanza Region adding that food should be served at the end of the service.
“This will symbolize the leaders throwing their differences behind them and thus moving toward the election in harmony”.
Apostle Denge regretted that most political leaders in the country were indulging in extravagant lives while the electorate worded in extreme poverty and injustice unleashed to them.
He also observed that some of the prayers organized by political leaders and a section of church ministers were not honest labelling them as show-offs.
“They dine and merry instead of truly seeking the Lord through fasting and prayer,” said Denge
Without prayer and repentance, Denge said, the country will plunge into violence adding that Kenya was the target for the devil.
“The devil wants to disrupt the peace in Kenya. This is the only country in East Africa where refugees can settle and be accommodated,” he explained.
He urged Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o to use his influence and power to make sure the prayer is held if envisages peace for the country.
