Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o has issued an invitation to the residents of Nyanza to a prayer meeting at the ACK St Stephens Cathedral Church.
The governor added that members of the public will receive t-shirts labeled "Luo Lives Matter".
According to Nyong'o, no lives should be lost as a result of 'police brutality'.
"We have discussed the concept of security to ensure lives and property are protected. We don't want more deaths linked to brutality," Nyong'o said.
National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga has asked his supporters to practice peace and remain united regardless of the verdict.
"Whatever happens today, we are winners. Go to church and temples to give thanks to God. A soldier lives to fight another battle. Therefore, today the world is not coming to an end," Raila said as quoted by The Star.
President Uhuru echoed the same stating that peaceful coexistence is the key to national development.
"The judgement will be made and whatever the outcome you should continue to coexist peacefully. It doesn't matter the outcome, Kenya will still be here. Love one another and live together as brothers," he said as quoted by The Standard.
"I have seen all Kenyans doing business. There are Kamba, Meru, Luo, Kikuyu and all Kenyan communities. Please continue living together peacefully," he added.
Notably members of both parties seem to be issuing the same narrative however as we await ruling from the seven-judge bench let us stick together and be our brother's keeper.
