With just hours to the repeat of Presidential elections, the Luo and Luhya communities living in Nakuru have declared they will participate in the repeat Presidential poll tomorrow, October 26.

Addressing media jointly in Nakuru on Wednesday, leaders from the two communities said they will join other Nakuru residents and vote Uhuru Kenyatta.

The Nakuru County Luo Elders Forum chairman Rev Robert Opiyo said the move was after 'wide consultations'.

"We are part of Nakuru County and we will do just as the Nakuru residents are doing,” he said.

The Forum chair said the scars of 2007/2008 post election violence are still evident in Nakuru and there is need for residents to maintain peace.

Chris Makokha from the Luhya community echoed the sentiments.
