President Uhuru Kenyatta now claims Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka is third in command in the country’s leadership hierarchy.

Until his election as Senate Speaker, Lusaka was Bungoma governor, a seat he lost to Wycliffe Wamangati on August 8.

At Kimilili on Thursday, Uhuru pleaded with Luhya community to vote for him in October 17th elections adding that he will put more focus in the region.

“I ensured that Lusaka is third in command and I wish that you help me win in October. I am intending to work more in this region.

“He will be working closely with me so that we ensure development in Western. It is my wish that I will score more from this region,” he said.

But Uhuru’s remarks may not be the gospel truth given that the constitution only recognizes speaker of National Assembly as the third in command.
