[Photo|ODM]The differences between former Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka and Senator Moses Wetangula, could now be seen in the Senate Assembly.This is after Lusaka was elected the Speaker, after garnering 42 votes, against his opponent Farah Maalim's 25 votes, Thursday.Lusaka was fronted by President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party, over Ekwee Ethuro, was the Speaker in the 11th Parliament.Wetangula and Lusaka have now met at the House, after political differences in the Western region county.At some point, Wetangula called for the arrest of Lusaka by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) chairman Archbishop (Rtd) Eliud Wabukala, in January 2017.This is after he linked him to the Sh1.09 wheelbarrow scandal, whereby an audit report revealed that 10 wheelbarrows in Bungoma were bought at Sh109,320 each, totaling to a whopping Sh1,093,200, exposing massive corruption in Lusaka's county government in 2016. At some point, the duo took their rivalry to Twitter, where they attacked each other.

​After he folded his party to merge and form Jubilee Party, Lusaka challenged Wetangula to do the same, and leave the Opposition, by rallying behind, Kenyatta's government.The two now met at the Senate, where Lusaka is the chief, and Wetangula the Minority Leader.However, Lusaka said he would not expect any differences between him and Wetangula, saying: "We are now elected, and the campaigns are over. We have to find a way to work together. I will extend my hand of goodwill to him."He was speaking at parliament buildings, after he made his maiden speech.
