Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka has urged Coast and Western Kenya leaders to unite with the rest of the country so as to be part of the government in 2022.
He said even though the two regions were the major opposition strongholds during the 2017 general elections it’s time to form partnerships with other regions be part of the government in the oncoming general elections.
Lusaka spoke in Malindi when he represented Deputy President William Ruto in a fundraising for Naona Mwangaza women group being spearheaded by Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and managed to raise Sh. 7.4 million.
The Senate Speaker urged Kenyans to be united so as to be under one party which will form the next government in 2022.
Lusaka said during the August General elections he dropped his new Ford Kenya party to join the Jubilee party and despite the heavy resistance in his region he still managed to get the Senate Speaker seat.
Further he said the Jubilee party got four Members of parliament in Bungoma, and other four legislators in Kakamega.He said it’s better for people to support the government instead of choosing to remain in opposition.
“Going forward it depends on how we shall prepare, everyone wants to form the government we go to the opposition by bad lack,’’ he said.
During the fundraising Kilifi County leaders of Jubilee party and ODM shared a platform for the first time and urged residents to support Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
