The National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga will not get votes from Western Kenya region famously 'Mulembe Nation'.
Despite having two of its principals hailing from the region, Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka has said, Mulembe Nation will vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta of Jubilee Party.
Speaking when he accompanied President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto during campaigns rallies in Bungoma County, Lusaka said the Luhya community will vote for Uhuru to show their 'gratitude' for having one of their 'sons' elevated to a top position.
"The Luhya's are waiting for the election day to say thank you to you in a big way for helping one of them lead the country as the Speaker of the Senate. We are very grateful," he told the President on Thursday.
Lusaka, who lost his governor seat to Ford Kenya's Wycliffe Wangamati, was fronted by Jubilee Party to succeed Ekwe Ethuro as the second Speaker of the Senate.
He added that Jubilee leaders from Western Kenya have put enough measures in place to ensure President Kenyatta is overwhelmingly voted in the area some analysts regard as an Opposition zone
