A luxurious tourism resort in Watamu area worth over Sh1.2 billion has resumed operations after closing business for over three years.
The One Watamu Bay resort formerly Ndovu resort is offering specialized services for lovers to enjoy the scenic and white sandy beaches of Watamu during the valentine and Easter holidays.
This Valentine the Hotel management has prepared special menus to give their clients unique touristic experience at affordable costs for both local and foreign tourists.
Valentine lovers will be treated with luxurious fruit salad, chocolate fruit salad, grilled fish, supreme of chicken, beetroot pure roasted vegetable served with chix Julie, grilled pork chops ratatouille served with sweet English end Irish potatoes mash among others.
Already the Chef cook Phillip Heka organized a sample of the meal for guests to taste before the valentine’s day on February 14 and it was amazing to clients.
Coincidentally a couple that had booked in for holiday to celebrate a birthday and got a taste of the valentine offer and could not hide their excitement.
Ravi Rohra the General Manager of the 150 rooms resort said they are also opening a conference facility with a capacity of 500 people.
Speaking at the hotel he said the hotel has ideal facilities for team building, spa, two large swimming pool, football pitch, tennis court and table tennis court.
For the oncoming Easter holidays, Rohra said they are setting up a package for local clients to get a free return flight from Nairobi to Malindi if they book for four nights at Sh53,000.
“We have a new package for domestic and international tourists, which is being processed to give clients the best holiday experience,’’ he said.
In the package tourists who will book in at the hotel shall have excursions to Marine Park, Mida Creek, Turtle watch. Kipepeo project tour, Arabuko Sokoke, Malindi Museum, Vasco Dagama Pillar, Sabaki hippo Watch, Hells Kitchen, and Tsavo East national park.
The General Manager called on the government to upgrade the roads along Watamu Jacaranda Mayungu to Casuarina so as to ease movement of tourists.
“The County and the National government should tarmac the roads, Malindi and Watamu have a big potential for growth in tourism, what we need is easy accessibility, and the airport to be upgraded to international status,’’ he said.
