The Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA) in a statement to newsrooms on Friday said that, 17700 M-shwari clients were unable to access their accounts since the network has assigned different account details thus denying them access.
CBA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Isaac Awuondo said that they will be harmonizing the accounts of the customers who have been denied access to their accounts.
“We are undertaking specific reconciliation of these customers (who have been denied access) activities to ensure that they are aligned to appropriate transacting accounts,” Awuondo said.
He said that the system which has been down since the Christmas Eve will be restored by Saturday the 30th by 6 pm.
“We expect this exercise to be concluded by 6 pm on Saturday, December 30th,” the statement reads further.
On Thursday, the customers who had tried to access their account balances were urged to be patient as the system was being attended to with so many disgruntled clients lodging complaints with Safaricom’s customer care.
