The Maa community is solidly behind the National Super Alliance (NASA) in the repeat presidential election, Narok North MP Moitalel Ole Kenta has said.

Speaking to the press on Wednesday, Kenta dismissed a recent visit to State House by a group of Maasai leaders, terming the visit as a private matter.

"The visit should not be misconstrued to mean that the community was supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta. It was a private matter that does not represent the political leaning of the community," the ODM MP said.

On Tuesday, a section of Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) leaders visited President Kenyatta and pledged to support his re-election campaign.

They were led by Narok CCM governorship candidate in August 8 polls Patrick Ole Ntutu and 10 MCAs.

"We came back to Jubilee after realising we are leading our community astray. We will ensure you win with a landslide in Narok and Kajiado counties," Ntutu told President Uhuru.

But Kenta termed Ntutu a Jubilee mole, maintaining the region will overwhelmingly vote for the Opposition candidate Raila Odinga.

"Those who visited Uhuru are individuals pursuing their own agenda, they went there alone," Kenta added.
