Former national assembly Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim has disclosed that he is the only aspirant with extraordinary sobriety in today's political scenes across the country.

In a social media message, Maalim pointed out that a great percentage of Kenyan politicians, both seasoned and entrant aspirants, were in the habit of hip-hopping from one party to another as long as their personal interests are met.

In what could be interpreted as a direct criticism against aspirants decamping to the Jubilee sect, the vocal Garissa politician reiterated that he will remain focused in his political game irrespective of party.

"Let me clearly remind my fellow Kenyans that I am the only convictional individual in today's politics who has never and will never hobnob with either Kenya African National Union (KANU), NARK or even the ruling Jubilee Party," updated Maalim.

His sentiments come at a time when the country's political playgrounds are steadily warming up ahead of the nominations slated for April.

Aspirants who feel they could be locked out in the respective party primaries are shifting allegiance to less competitive parties which may possibly favor them.

Already, Maalim is facing an acid test in the nominations if his NASA coalition is to conduct joint nominations since Raila has fronted another aspirant for the same political seat under the ODM ticket.
