Garissa parliamentary hopeful Farah Maalim has criticized the National Youth Service (NYS) projects in the county, saying the exercise is just but a platform to facilitate rigging of elections.
Making the revelations via his social media platform, the Noth Eastern cord politician said the project is an initiative by the Jubilee government to facilitate and entice the locals to vote for them for another term.
Maalim questioned why the NYS clerks were registering Kenyans with BVR machines similar to those of the Independent Boundaries and Electoral Commission (IEBC) in Garissa County, while at the same time promising employment opportunities to thousands of jobless locals.
"Jubilee government has started the process of rigging the 2017 elections very early. National Youth Service personnel are registering Kenyans with the BVR machines in Garissa and at the same time promising employment the jobless," claimed the seasoned politician.
Maalim's sentiments come barely a week after a section of locals allied to governor Jama in Garissa town raised concern over the projects.
