Garissa Town MP hopeful Farah Maalim has accused National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale of being in a panic mode since he is aware he is going to lose his seat in the forthcoming polls.
Maalim said Duale was resorting to violence to intimidate voters but would not succeed since he was sure of beating the MP with a landslide in the August 8 elections.
"Short of the violence he is trying to use, Aden Duale already lost his seat way back and everybody including him is aware of that," he told KTN News on Friday last week.
"There is going to be a big difference, there is no contest between us. It is going to be a landslide win in my favour," he added.
Maalim has asked the government to take action on the alleged hate speech by Duale saying they have already reported the matter to the DCI and are expecting an action from them.
"There has to be equal application of the law and not being selective. When Kuria, Junet, Gunjiri, Muthama and other leaders were accused of hate speech, they were taken behind the bars in Pangani and that should also apply to Duale," he said.
"We have talked to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation Department and they have promised that the government is going to do the needful in this case," he added.
His remarks come following the release of an audio clip doing rounds on social, where a person said to be Duale, is heard inciting youth in Garissa against Kambas and Wiper Party supporters in the region.
Duale, however, has disowned the audio saying it was a ploy to tarnish his reputation.
