Maalim with the Amani National Congress deputy party leader Captain Abdi Yare Mohammed urged the government to take action against Duale over the matter after recording a statement with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Nairobi.

The former Deputy Speaker who is eying to unseat Duale in the Garissa MP seat said the utterances made by Duale could lead to loss of lives.

“We want to see whether this government’s stand on hate speech and incitement applies selectively,” said Maalim.

Yare said it is unfortunate the way Duale is denouncing the statements he made himself.

“We are not expecting anything short of what we saw with Pangani Six if the government is sincere,” said Yare.

The NCIC has taken up the matter and chairman Francis Ole Kaparo has said they are investigating the matter and should Duale be found guilty on the matter he will be prosecuted.
