Farah Maalim says opposition outfit NASA will swear in Raila Odinga in August should electoral body IEBC ‘rig’ polls in August.
Maalim further says NASA has put mechanisms to ensure Jubilee administration’s rigging schemes are thwarted by agreeing to deploy agents across all polling stations.
The former Lagdera MP, who has also declared interests in Garissa Township parliamentary seat, was instrumental in signing of NASA deal that saw his party leader Kalonzo Musyoka supporting Odinga’s bid for the second time.
“As NASA, we shall not accept any rigged elections and IEBC should know that. We have had enough of it (2007, 2013) and this is the time to rescue this country,” he said.
He further said: “We shall swear Odinga as president if IEBC tries to rig. We cannot tolerate impunity any longer and that is my stand.”
Having run unsuccessfully in three occasions, Odinga is set to go for the fourth and final term after agreeing to serve as a transitional president.
Under the NASA deal, Musalia Mudavadi will serve as Premier Cabinet Secretary and will be deputized by Moses Wetangula and Governor Isaac Rutto.
