In a tweet Thursday, the former Lagdera lawmaker, citing the National Super Alliance (NASA) leader's earlier claims that he had turned down attempts to bribe him into joining the government's side, queried the deal that led to his turnaround decision to join the President.

''What I said on KTN was that at a joint NASA Parliamentary Group meeting at Wiper house Raila told the congregation that he was offered by Jubilee Kshs5 Billion, then Kshs10 Billion progressively upto Kshs 25Billion, and said he rejected the offer. It was heard by at least 100 persons. My question is what did Raila demand?'' he wondered.

The two leaders have since pledged to join forces in pursuit of national cohesion.

Maalim also confirmed that he is solidly in Wiper.

He maintained that nothing will push him out of the former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka-led block.

''I had told Kenyans time and again for almost three decades that I'm guided in my affiliations and take positions based on my convictions, not the politics of transaction. I'm not an apologist for any entity Jubilee included. I don't need any job and never asked for one. I'm in Wiper period,'' he added in a separate tweet.
