Appearing before the National Assembly committee on national security Tuesday, the CS accused a section of judges of collaborating with opposition-friendly quarters to sabotage the government's operations, with regards to recent court orders regarding National Resistance Movement (NRM) leader Miguna Miguna.

According to Maalim, however, the remarks were uncalled for, observing that though he might have been opposed to the judges' rulings, he should have applied a more sober challenge.

In a tweet Thursday, the former Lagdera lawmaker noted that the best option for Matiang'i would have been appealing the rulings in another court of law, taking issue with his reaction.

"If you are not amused by the ruling of a court go to the next court with your facts. Stick to the point of law, this is not politics," he tweeted.

He noted that the judicial arm of the government demands respect failure to which the nation is likely to shoulder the cost.

"The Judiciary is beyond politics. Treat it like the Vatican otherwise perish as a state," further reads the tweet.

Matiang'i, Police boss Joseph Boinett and Immigration Principal Secretary Gordon Kihalangwa have since ignored several court orders revolving around Miguna's detention and deportation, deeds that happened against court directives.
