Former National Assembly Deputy Speaker leader Farah Maalim has withdrawn an appeal case filed against National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale.
Maalim on Tuesday withdrew the appeal he had filed with the high court after losing a case to Duale over the August 8 general elections.
The former Deputy National Assembly Majority leader in a notice said he has withdrawn the case and would support Duale’s re-elction.
“Take notice that the appellant herein, Farah Maalim, hereby withdraws the entire appeal,” He stated.
The former MP had accused the Majority leader of rigging him out in last year’s general elections where Justice Hedwig Ongudi rule that there were no irregularities to warrant the nullification of Duale’s win.
Maalim had noted that there were cases of voter bribery and improper transmission of results which gave Duale unfavorable advantage against him.
Maalim though had admitted he did not have concrete evidence.
The two resolved to working together after meeting on Friday last week.
