The former Deputy Speaker was speaking to NTV on Monday, defended his ODM party leader Raila Ondinga saying that anybody with information to implicate him for receiving money from governors should take file a law suite against him.

"In this age of IT to hear people talking saying so and so has done this and that, that is absolute nonsense that is not how a state should function. The government should be investigating people and taking actions no pointing fingers," he said

"If you have evidence that Raila or any other person is receiving money from the governors, take them to court," he added.

Maalim insisted that it is the responsibility of the government to fight corruption since they had the machinery to fight the vice.

"At the end of the day, it is the government of the day that has the machinery to fight corruption," he said.

"If the president decides today that he wants actions from the bodies charged with fighting corruption they will get to work. To show powerlessness because of the new constitution by the president is not acceptable," said Maalim.
