"I urge CS Matiangi never to relent on his fight to restoring sanity in education sector.Nobody should stop him in the fight, the sector needs major reforms," he said.

Farah further criticised politicians agitating for tribal appointments, saying the vice only serves to heighten tension in the country and also lowering educational standards in public institutions.

"It is a very big shame to see well endowed intellectuals and politicians agitating for cheap tribal agendas.Their audacity is much sickening. Keep ethnicity away from education," he added.

Some days ago, several politicians from the North Rift region stormed Moi University, demanding that the institution's Vice Chancellor be appointed from within the community. The standoff emerged after CS Matang'i appointed Prof Laban Ayiro to temporary succeed professor Richard Mibey, who recently exited office.
