With National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale expected to give a fierce legal defense to save his Garissa Township MP seat, top lawyer Nelson Havi is backing Duale's bitter rival Farah Maalim to win the court battle.
According to the IEBC final tally of the August 8 polls, Duale was declared the winner after garnering 22,587 votes against Farah Maalim's 14,897. However, Maalim swiftly rejected the results which he said were manipulated in favor of Duale and has since challenged the election's outcome in court.
Through his twitter handle, Havi noted that the former Lagdera MP has a strong case against Duale which he says will lead to the nullification of the incumbent's win.
"I have reviewed Farah Maalim's petition against Aden Duale. It is thrice stronger than that determined by the SCOK (Supreme Court of Kenya). Duale is going home for good," noted Havi.
Maalim's election petition case against Duale will be handled by High Court Judge George Odunga.
