Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) deputy leader Farah Maalim now wants a change of tact in the push for electoral justice and reforms.
The former National Assembly Deputy Speaker has called for the exit of the older political elite in the push, to give room for a new and energetic generation.
He observed that the group has demonstrated inability to spearhead the realization of the dream, alleging that some of them have instead conspired in a plot to further deprive Kenyans of the much needed change.
"Genuine reform forces need to group and claim the Kenyan initiative for meaningful change. The struggle for social emancipation has been hijacked by self-centered profiteers for far too long," he tweeted Friday.
"The new initiative can only be powered by a young new crop of genuine social revolutionaries," he added.
Wiper party, a member block of the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA), has been in the front line in pushing for the changes, following the August 8 and October 26 controversial presidential contests.
The former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka-led side, in collaboration with its Amani National Congress (ANC) and Ford-Kenya opposition counterparts, has since requested for a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta in line with the demand.
