Former National Assembly deputy speaker Farah Maalim who was contesting to unseat Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has said that life will move after losing his bid to send Duale home.

On Thursday, Maalim said that he will make a comeback, maintaining that Duale is not the right leader for the constituency.

He said that he will remain active in politics and prepare the ground for future elections.

Maalim urged his supporters not to lose hope urging them to be calm and wait for another day.

“This is not the end of lie for me and I promise to make a comeback in politics and teach the likes of Duale a lesson of their lives,” he said as quoted by the People Daily.

Malaim who was vying for the seat on Wiper ticket appealed to residents to remain firm and reject being manipulated by leaders he claimed are not fit to hold public office.

Duale retained his seat easily garnering 22,587 votes against Maalim’s 14,897 votes.

He has been declared the winner by the IEBC.

The former National Assembly deputy speaker also called for peace across the country following a standoff on the presidential results.

Malaim claimed that Jubilee wants to rob NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga of clear victory.

“Let’s remain peaceful and wait for the IEBC to complete tallying and then we will know the winner and the loser,” he said.

NASA has disputed the provisional presidential results claim that they are being doctored.

NASA alleges that intruders hacked into IEBC servers with the intension of allegedly denying the opposition victory.

Raila Odinga is trialing president Kenyatta with over 1.4 million votes as at 2pm Thursday.
