Kisii deputy governor Joash Maangi has assured persons living with disabilities in the county that the government will offer the necessary support they need.
Speaking on Wednesday in his office when he met an association of persons living with disabilities in Kisii, Maangi encouraged them to apply for county jobs and tenders.
"Kisii county government recognises persons living with disabilities," said Maangi.
"We encourage them to apply for jobs and tenders when advertised so that they can improve their wellbeing," he added.
He added that as a county government they were committed to implementing the public procurement and disposal act of Parliament, that stipulated 30% of all public procurement be set aside for youth, women and persons with disabilities.
"I encourage you to update us your number of members especially students and pupils so that we can allocate them resources to cater for their needs," he told the association.
