Kisii county Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has said Deputy President William Ruto and his security unity left Kisii town at 3pm on Thursday before the shooting took place at Daraja Mbili that killed two business ladies during evening time.
His remarks come after allegations circulated on social media platforms that DP‘s security unity are the one who shot the two business ladies at Daraja Mbili in Kisii town allegation that maangi has denied.
Speaking to journalists on Friday at county buildings Maangi denied the allegations and said DP’s security left at 3pm as Administration Police and Bodaboda operators turned fatal at 6.30 pm.
“All information and rumors on social media that DP‘s security involved in the shooting that took place on Thursday are false,” said Maangi.
“The investigation has been commenced and the culprits will face the full force of law once the investigation is complete," he added.
AP officers and Bodaboda operators turned fatal after two women were shot dead by the police on Thursday at Daraja Mbili Market in Kisii town.
Administration Police officers Quick Response Team (APQRT) allegedly found a bodaboda accident scene and tried to intervene when an argument between the policemen and the operators ensued and killed two ladies.
