Kisii County deputy governor Joash Maangi has called on politicians who lost during the August 8 polls to put aside their political differences and work together to develop the county.

Maangi was speaking on Tuesday during Jamhuri Day celebrations at Gusii stadium where he said electioneering period is over and there is a need for leaders to join hands for the sake of development.

"Our people want service delivery after a prolonged election period and to achieve development, I urge opponents to join us in developing the county to improve the lives of our people," he said.

Maangi said Kisii County government won't discriminate those who didn't vote for his boss Governor James Ongwae.

"No one will be sidelined in the government. Quality and transparent services will be offered to all county constituents," he added.

He added that county offices are open for everyone.

Maangi expressed confidence that Kisii court will throw out a petition challenging governor Ongwae's August 8 victory.
