The drugs include antibiotics, anti-malarials, analgesics and disinfectants.

Maangi said the county is committed to ensure residents deep in the villages seeking health services at local health facilities get access to affordable healthcare.

"The drugs will be given to the members of the public visiting health centers when they fall sick. Health workers should maintain high levels of integrity to ensure no theft of drugs is reported," he said.

The Deputy Governor challenged residents to consider visiting local dispensaries saying the private clinics are exploiting prices for the drugs.

He asked residents not to purchase drugs from dealers but instead visit health facilities whenever they feel sick.

"We are also aware that some doctors are reffering patients to their private facilities amd we shall not allow that to go on," he said.

He said the county is committed to improve health services.
