Kisii County has put up solar street lights in Bomachoge Chache and Borabu constituencies in Kisii County.
This according to Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi is in a bid to create a 24-hour economy.
On Tuesday night Mr Maangi launched the lights at Nyabisiongororo, Omorinkamu, Tendere, Nyamache junction and Riobonyo market centres.
"Our aim is to cover all markets in the county and will help reduce insecurity in markets," he said.
This comes just months after Governor James Ongwae took office and Mr Maangi said that they had started fulfilling their promises.
"We shall ensure we fulfil promises that we made during the campaigns with my boss. We shall also ensure we create more job opportunities," he said.
