Kisii county deputy governor Joash Maangi has said his announcement that former CIC Chairman Charles Nyachae will vie for Kisii county senatorial seat is personal.
Maangi said whoever is interested in vying for the seat using the new Jubilee party, doors are open as the party plans to conduct free and fair party nominations early next year
Addressing the press on Thursday at Kisii sports club, Maangi said former South Mugirango MP Omingo Magara and former Nyaribari Masaba MP Prof Sam Ongeri who are eying the seat are free to join the new Jubilee party as nominations will be conducted to get the people's candidate.
Maangi promised that whoever wins the nominations will get full support from other aspirants.
“I endorsed Charles Nyachae to vie for Kisii county senatorial seat come 2017 using Jubilee party but that was personal not the proposal of other members,” said Maangi.
“Let me put it clear that we know Omingo Magara and Sam Ongeri need to vie for the seat through Jubilee party because they are members let them come and the nomination will be done over who is going to to contest using the party,” he added.
