Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi now wants Governor James Ongwae and his main political rival Chris Obure to work together.
Speaking at Ogembo area on Monday, Mr Maangi argued that it is by doing so that the people in Gusii will reap the fruits of development.
"Kisii County is under siege and that has been caused by the rivalry of Governor James Ongwae and Mr Obure and I would like the two to speak and end their rivalry," said Mr Maangi.
The Deputy governor said that politics in the county was over and it was the right time for the two leaders to initiate projects and work for the better of locals.
During the August 8, 2017, polls, Mr Obure lost to Governor Ongwae in a hotly contested election.
Last month, the Kisii High Court threw out a case that was challenging Governor Ongwae's win and the two leaders are yet to meet at a public function and chant the way forward.
