Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has asked residents not to part with money in order to get public positions. In
Some he said had even sold their pieces of land with aim of securing jobs in the county.
Mr Maangi said all vacancies available in respective county offices will be advertised and applicants picked on merit and not through brokers.
"In the past we have had cases where parents sell land in order for their children to secure jobs in various departments of the government only to be conned," he said.
Mr Maangi warned cartels misusing his name and conning unsuspecting job applicants that their days were numbered.
“I have received numerous reports that a section of residents have sold their pieces of land to secure jobs only to lose their money to the errand cartels and am sending a warning to them,” said Maangi.
Mr Maangi also took the opportunity to caution those eyeing to join the military to ensure that they don’t pay any bribe to any one as they may end up losing.
