Kisii county Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has revealed the reason behind his move to return to the Orange Democratic Party after a period of flirting with the rival Jubilee Party.
Speaking when he was received back into the party by its leader Raila Odinga Tuesday, Maangi who had recently shown affection to the ruling party said that his decision was fueled by his supporters who advice him to reconsider his move and he decided to honor their calls.
''As a leader, you must listen to the wishes of your people and do their will.My people have called upon me to rejoin the party and i have honored their calls,'' said Maangi in the event that was also attended by his boss, Governor James Ongwae.
On his side, Raila welcomed him back into the party maintaining that he is glad to have him back into the party, one of the member parties making the opposition unity, National Super Aliance NASA.
''I am glad to welcome Maangi back into the party, he had lost his way by decamping to Jubilee but i am happy that he is now back on track,'' said the former Prime Minister.
Maangi also vowed to give his all to ensure that the alliance whose Presidential flag will be flied by Raila wins in the coming general polls scheduled for August and makes the next government.
