Speaking in Kisii town on Thursday, Mr Maangi accused Jubilee of working in a manner to block money to the counties.

"Jubilee wants to block money from reaching the counties which is a great problem and a barrier to development," he said.

Mr Maangi called upon all leaders in the counties to pressurise the National Government to release more funds to the counties.

This comes just a day after the Finance CS Henry Rotich said that government did not have enough funds to send to the counties.

Ahead of the August 8 elections, Mr Maangi was supporting the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta before he dumped Jubilee for the opposition.

During their first term in office with his boss James Ongwae (Governor Kisii), Mr Maangi was accused of working with the government.

This forced Nasa leader Raila Odinga to struck his name off the list of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) members.
