Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has called on leaders from the county to work together to achieve development.
Maangi said divisive politics and attacking one another in the public will not solve any problem.
He said leaders must be willing to come together and develop a common work plan if they have to realise tangible development for the people of Kisii.
The deputy governor was speaking at his home town of Ogembo where he was presiding over fundraiser for helping a local boda boda Sacco.
He said different leaders have different abilities and coming and working together will be adding value to one another rather than appear as fighting against each other all the time.
“Let us be liberated from the past, past is gone and we must now focus on the future, 2017 is coming when each of us will be answerable to the public on what we did with the offices they gave us,” he added.
He said the government must be answerable to the people and not the people answerable to the government.
‘Other leaders who want to operate alone may continue to do so, but as for me I will be whenever I am required to go even outside my constituency,” he said.
