Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has lashed out at politicians who have allegedly been undermining the governor of Kisii County and called for unity among the leaders.

Speaking at Mariba Primary School in Kisii County when he commissioned a foot bridge, he asked the politicians to give the county government of Kisii time to deliver, saying the general election was in 2017. He said this was the time to deliver services to wananchi.

“I am aware that some people have already started campaigning for 2017 which to us is still early. I am telling them to initiate development projects which can assist wananchi instead of politicking,” he said.

The Deputy Governor observed that there was need for the politicians to unite for the betterment of their people, saying the area had been marginalised for a long time and it was now time to work courtesy of devolution.

He said that he would not be stopped by his political opponents whom he termed as inciters and promised to implement his development agenda as per his campaign manifesto.

Reacting to some of the issues which he termed as propaganda, he pointed out that their government had not misused any funds as alleged and asked those propagating the lies to report to the anti-corruption commission.
