Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has called on the business community to invest heavily in the county to spur her growth.
Maangi said the county has put in place all strategies to ensure that the investors get a business friendly environment.
“As the county government looks for investors from outside this county, you should seize the opportunities available and start investing in the county,” the deputy governor said.
While addressing directors of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI ) Kisii Chapter on Thursday in a Kisii Hotel, Maangi said the county government had started creating an enabling environment for business, including the installation of street lights in various urban centres within the county.
“We have installed street lights in many centers across the county and we will do the same with the ongoing tarmac road project," he told the traders.
He said the county administration had also started constructing a multi-purpose market in Suneka and Daraja Mbili townships to spearhead trade.
“We are doing our best to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and we hope you will take our efforts positively by investing and increasing your businesses," he said.
The deputy governor said the county government had been unable to bring investors into the county because they lack a legislative framework.
