Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has reiterated that associating with the government leads to better development.

According to Maangi, the resources allocated to the counties could not lead to better development and thus the need to work with the central government.

"The county governments receive 15% as revenue allocation from the government. This is not enough and that is why one needs to work with the government to get more resources for development," said Maangi.

He further dismissed claims that he had joined Jubilee for his personal gains.

The deputy governor said he had ditched ODM for Jubilee because there were no resources to be received when in the opposition.

"I did not ditch ODM for Jubilee for my personal gains. I joined Jubilee because I wanted the people of Kisii to get more resources for development. The opposition cannot give people resources for development," Maangi added.

Maangi made the remarks during an interview on Radio Maisha on Wednesday.
