Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has pleaded with local politicians who lost during the August 8, 2017 election to reconcile with winners.
According to Maangi, politicians should emulate what President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga.
“Few days ago we witnessed Raila and Uhuru shaking hands and agreed to work together. The same should happen to our local politicians," he said.
Maangi said that his boss Governor James Ongwae and him they have extended their hands to their opponents who contested against them last year.
“Governor Ongwae and I agreed to work with our opponents for the sake of developing Kisii County and this should be replicated everywhere," he said.
Maangi was speaking at Kisii Cultural Hall on Thursday.
