This comes after the MP was granted a bond of Sh2 million by the Nairobi Law Court for allegedly posting incitement messages to his Facebook page with the intent to stir up ethnic hatred between some communities in Kenya.

According to the Chief Inspector of Police Robert Mabeya who was speaking on Tuesday in Nairobi, Kuria has continued to post content on his Facebook and twitter accounts despite a court order barring him from the same.

The court heard that the MP has in the past made reference to cultural practices of non circumcision just to humiliate some community who do not exercise circumcision.

“Last year the court had ordered the MP to stop updating his social media until further investigation is done, but Kuria has allegedly gone contrary to the court order” said Inspector Mabeya.

However, Kuria has denied three accounts of incitement and hate speech allegations saying that he has no intentions of demeaning any tribe in the country.

On May 16 last year, Kuria said that his post did not state that, “I think it is only a matter of time before Kenyans start violence against PERCEIVED (sic) terrorists, their sympathisers, their financiers and those issuing travel advisories without intelligence. I am not sure I will not be one of those Kenyans.”

He also refuted that his post added that, “When you touch Gikomba the nerve centre of our economic enterprise, you really cross the line. Brace yourself. Choices have consequences.”

These, according to the Inspector, Police summed up Kuria’s posts to incitement and thus urged the NCIC to revoke Kuria’s bond and let justice prevail and be prosecuted since Section 13 of the National Cohesion and Integration Act makes it illegal to use threatening, abusive or insulting words, acts or materials liable to stir up ethnic hatred.
