Machakos County Assembly has voted in a motion which will see the county public service recruitment board chairperson, Rosemary Mulee, step aside.

This will pave away for investigations over allegations levelled against her. 

The motion was tabled in the county assembly by Kilimani MCA Sammy Nduva who said Mulee has issued employment letters to ghost workers.

Nduva further accused Mulee of promoting some people without considering their academic qualifications. 

 The motion was backed by the assembly where some members described such matters as the beginning of the flawed development in the county.

Recently Ministry of Devolution and Planning launched an exercise to register all government employees in a bid to get rid of ghost workers. 

The Salaries and Remuneration Commission has proposed and effected slash on the salaries of civil servants with the goal of reducing the high wage bill. 

Research shows that Kenya is among countries in the world whose civil servants are paid high salaries.
