Machakos county has bowed to pressure and finally advertised for ECDE caregivers.
According to the constitution, ECDE is a devolved function.There has been pressure to the county to employ these teachers as nearly all counties have so far employed.
According to the advertisement by the county public service board, some of the duties of the caregivers include organizing and facilitating play/learning activities to enable children cope with early school life, planning for development of children's talent, managing ECDE centres among others.
Applicants should have at least D+ in KCSE or ECDE KNEC certificate, ECDE diploma and above.
Renumeration will be Sh10,500 for those with D+ in KCSE or ECDE KNEC certificate and Sh12,000 per month for ECDE diploma and above.
The successful candidates will serve for a 3-year contract.
Applications can be made through Machakos county website or nearest sub-county administrator's office by December 13, 2016.
