Machakos County deputy traffic commandant Paul Wanjohi has vowed to deal with errant motorists.
Speaking from his office at Machakos town on Monday, Wanjohi warned motorists who are flouting traffic regulations.
He said a crackdown to get rid of errant motorists will be launched soon in Machakos.
“Motorists who flout traffic rules should know that their days are numbered, we are going to mount a serious crackdown on them,” he said.
The deputy traffic commandant further warned against bodaboda operators contravening traffic laws.
He said that traffic rules apply to all motorists including bodaboda and tuk tuk operators.
Wanjohi said that his office has received complaints about motorists who over speed at night along the Machakos-Mombasa road.
He asked the members of the public to support the police by reporting drivers who over speed.
On Saturday three people died after a 14 seater matatu rammed into their vehicle. The accident occurred along the Machakos- Kitui road near Kathangathini trading center.
The deceased succumbed to injuries as they were being treated at Machakos level hospital. Six other people survived the accident with serious injuries.
