Three MCA's from the Machakos County Assembly on Tuesday told members of the county's executive to be good advisers of Governor Alfred Mutua so as to make him more acceptable to the public.
Speaking at a joint press briefing in Mlolongo town, Alice Nzioka (Wiper), Amina Mutiso (CCU) and Bridget Mbinya (Pick party), all nominated Members of Machakos County Assembly accused the executive of misleading and failing the governor.
"Those in the governor's office are failing him, they should advise the governor well instead of feeding him with lies which hamper the county's development," said Nzioka.
Nzioka claimed there were poor strategies of project identification and implementation by the county government resulting from the wrong advice and misinformation of the governor.
Mutiso said members of the public should be allowed to participate in identifying projects depending on their priorities and need instead of the government imposing the projects on them.
Mbinya on her side said all the county ministries should audit projects to confirm their implementation status before developing reports to avoid getting embarrassed whenever they presented the reports to members of the public who are well vast with the projects within their communities.
The county legislators said that contractors should not be paid before completing projects awarded to them asserting those with bad track records be blacklisted to avoid qualifying for tenders from the county government.
