Speaking in his office on Thursday, Nyamweya said his office which serves seven sub counties works on 3,000 to 4,000 forms per day.

He said his office has been working non-stop to serve parents who throng the offices.

"Up to now we have only completed 75% of the task, we are yet to beat the deadline," Nyamweya said.

Nyamweya told the residents to avoid falling victims of con men who are out to make a kill by defrauding desperate parents by providing them with fake forms.

"There are people lying they work in my office waylaying parents out there lying to them that they will give them birth certificates offering them fake forms to fill," Nyamweya sauid.

Nyamweya noted that 45% of the birth applications most women are seeking removal or change of the father's name in the certificates.

Nyamweya said a birth certificate will contain the biological name of the father and not the foster one as the law stipulates.

"We won't change the biological father's name from the birth certificate, parents should be informed," Nyamweya said.
