Twaweza Youth Group chairman Stephen Kizito has urged Machakos county assembly members to deliver their promises.
Kizito who spoke at a youth meeting in Athi River town on Friday, said that most county members are busy engaging in politics instead of working for the people.
"MCAs have taken sides in the ongoing political wrangles between the governor and his deputy hence, paralysing development in their wards," noted Kizito.
He said that some MCAs did not understand their duty well as stipulated in the Kenya Constitution 2010.
Kizito urged the leaders to reread and understand their duty as prescribed in the constitution so that they can serve their people effectively.
He challenged them to be vigilant in their oversight role arguing that they are the one to save the county from alleged corruption and misappropriation of public funds.
Kizito however urged youth from the region to work together with the county government to help it to deliver services to the residents.
